Donors give those fighting big battles hope and a fighting chance....Donors Matter!
Through personal experiences and planning the first Portland DonorFest in 2018, we learned so much more about the blood and organ donation world, as well as cancer and other chronic/life impacting illnesses. There are so many things we can accomplish and so many events to celebrate life....we didn't want to stop with just one event a year. This is how the organization, Fighting Chance/Donors Matter, began.
Fighting Chance/Donors Matter is a way to not only show how much donors matter, but help support individuals and families of these communities. Donors come in all forms, from blood and organ donors, to giving time and financial support. Our goal is to have it become a 501(c)(3) organization, while continuing to hold events and finding ways to assist and show our support.
We look forward to this journey and all the adventures along the way.....stay tuned for more details (and events) soon!
Fighting Chance/Donors Matter logo was generously donated by a talented graphic artist in the name of her good friend, John Whitehurst, who had a kidney transplant. John lived an amazing life after receiving the kidney, and made a big difference in many lives. Sadly, he died of a heart attack while riding his motorcycle several months ago. He is remembered and celebrated!💚 💚
